Rema Inspires Edo State Artists: “Rema x Shallipopiset set to drop new music”
Several months ago, rumors went around the internet that Crown Uzama, better known by his stage name Shallipopi, gave credit to his colleague Divine Ikubor, better known by her stage name Rema, for encouraging him and other young Edo State musicians to have faith in their abilities.
Shallipopi and Rema were seen having fun in the studio while listening to a new song that would shortly be out.
Internet surfers are full of optimism after learning this, eagerly awaiting the magic and hits that will soon be released.
The Benin-born musician discussed how Rema, the “Calm Down” crooner, was a ray of hope for Benini artists in a recent interview on The Zero Conditions podcast.

Shallipopi, meanwhile, underlined that before Rema’s ascent, there was a general lack of confidence among Benini artists, with many thinking that musical glory was exclusive to those in Lagos and Abuja.
“In Benin, none of us had any hope of succeeding,” he said. We gave it to the people in Abuja and Lagos. Although we witnessed everything, we were devoid of any chance of being the center of attention.
Rema’s rise to fame started with the appeal of his social media freestyle videos, which D’Prince saw and eventually led to him securing a record deal with Mavin Records.
