King Gnu Release New Album “THE GREATEST UNKNOWN”
On June 12, 2023, NHK revealed the seventh version of the television special 18Fes, which worked with Yoasobi. They asked 1,000 Japanese teenagers, aged 17 to 20, to submit messages or performance videos with the theme “heartbeat” so that they could make music based on them. The teens were to film the music video shoot in November. The song “Heart Beat” was performed at the December 25 NHK General TV program.
On December 26, a short time after it aired, the song was accessible on digital music and streaming services. At 20:00 JST, on the same day as the release, the music video for it debuted. Under the direction of Atsushi Makino, it uses a puppet performance and blacklights to illustrate facing oneself, anxiety, and struggle while discovering one’s actual identity.
