Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song has shared what he and his team think of Victor Osimhen ahead of their must-win game against Nigeria at AFCON 2023.
In his exclusive interview, Rigobert Song revealed that he respects Victor Osimhen, and they recognise his qualities as a player, praising his skills on the pitch as well, but he goes on to add that he or his side are not afraid of him, and as such, the respect and acknowledgement will not be translated into how he will be managed and ushered by the defensive line on the pitch.

He stated, “Osimhen is a big player. We know and respect him. But respecting him doesn’t mean that we should fear him.”
Song discusses how his side will play on the pitch, indicating that his team will play with more seriousness as they are faced with the heavy task of playing against one of the best sides in the competition. He said, “We will stick to the positive; we are trying to improve our game daily. Nigeria is a good team. It is not going to be easy, but we are going to take them seriously. When we play for a team that is serious, we will be serious too. We have conceded lots of goals, but we will find a way to concede less tomorrow. We need to believe in ourselves to give the best we can.”
